At The Swan Hotel, Alresford we want to make everyone’s stay as enjoyable as possible, and we try to provide suitable access for all our guests, whatever their individual needs. We aim to accurately describe our facilities and services to give you the confidence to book the right room for your specific requirements.

At a Glance

LEVEL ACCESS

• The main entrance has level access with a ramp. The ramp is permanent. The main door is side hung and manual

• There is level access from the main entrance to:

– Bedroom: Twin bedroom (if requested)

• The walls and the doors in the main building have high colour contrast

GENERAL

All bedrooms in the main hotel are accessed via two flights of stairs. However in the annexe of the hotel, there are 5 rooms that are accessed directly from the car park. Four of these rooms (twins, doubles & family) are accessed via three steps. Room 425, a twin room, is wheelchair accessible, and has a wet room with a handrail. However, the bedroom has no handrails. The hotel can cater for special diets – diabetic, gluten free etc – if pre-booked.

GETTING HERE
The nearest railway station is in Alton (10 miles) or Winchester (7 miles), you can book train tickets through https://www.thetrainline.com/. Both stations have taxi ranks outside, with pre-bookable accessible taxis – Wintax Taxi Service – 01962 866208. A full list of local taxi companies is available on the ‘Taxis’ page at the bottom of the website under ‘Links’ or at reception.
Buses from Alton & Winchester stop outside the hotel and run at two buses per hour.

ARRIVAL & CAR PARKING FACILITIES
The hotel is open from 7.30am until 10pm (8pm on Sunday) daily (Please note check-in is from 2pm as we need the car park at lunch time, for our restaurant guests). As there is no night porter, if arriving after 10pm (8pm on Sunday), please can you notify the hotel so that a member of staff can leave a key for you. The hotel has free limited parking with 1 Disabled Space, situated at the rear of the hotel (as this is a small hotel we can’t guarantee parking). Assistance can be provided with luggage. If the Car Park is full there is free ‘time limited’ parking in both roads surrounding the hotel, including 2 disabled parking spaces less than 50 meters from the main entrance of the hotel. There is also parking in the steam railway car park (up to 3 hours), Perins School car park or Arlebury Park car park. All parking around the town becomes free from 6pm – 8am

MAIN ENTRANCE & RECEPTION

Reception is open from 7.30am until 10pm. There is no night porter so in an emergency ring the duty manager (see welcome letter in room for contact number). If entry is required after 11pm, then access can be gained by using your room key in front door or the side door in the car park, (under the balcony). Please make sure you take your key with you for late entry.
The hotel has no lift.
There is seating available in the reception area.

PUBLIC AREAS – General (Internal)
The Reception, Dining Room, Bar, Watercress Room and Snug are all on one level. There are 3 private function rooms – The Watercress Room, the front dining room, which seats up to 35, The Dining Room which seats up to 50 people, & The Vault, which seats up to 90, which is accessible only by stairs and is sited below the hotel annex bedrooms at the rear of the hotel.

PUBLIC ACCESS – WC

A disabled toilet is sited by reception. Baby Changing Facilities are available in the disabled toilet.

RESTAURANT/DINING ROOM, BAR & SNUG
To access the reception, restaurants and bar there are paved ramps that lead directly to both the bar and reception area.

There is 1 step up into the snug
The tables & seating are moveable. All tables are at the same height.
The hotel can cater for special dietary requirements on request.
Waitress Service is available, however at busy times we request that the customer goes to the counter. We are very happy to provide waitress service if the customer prefers.

LAUNDRY

There is no Laundry Room, however a Laundry Service is offered on request. Please ask for a current price list.

CONFERENCE & MEETING ROOMS, BANQUETING, CLUBS, ENTERTAINMENT
There are 2 meeting rooms available. The Front Dining Room known as The Watercress Room seats up to 15 Boardroom style, or The Vault, seats up to 35 Boardroom style. Access to The Vault is only available by stairs.
The Swan Hotel holds meetings for the following societies:
Rotary meeting 1st Monday of month, Evening
RAFA first & third Thursday of Month
RNA second Tuesday of Month
Alresford PIGS Association second Thursday of Month

Swan Ladies Clud third Tuesday of Month

BEDROOMS

All bedrooms in the main hotel are accessed via two flights of stairs.
However in the annexe of the hotel, there are 5 rooms that are accessed directly from the car park. Four of these rooms (twins, doubles & family) are accessed via three steps. Room 25, a twin room, is wheelchair accessible, and has a wet room with a handrail. However, the bedroom has no handrails. Dogs are allowed to stay in downstairs annexe rooms only unless Guide/Hearing Dog.
Bathroom, Shower-room & WC [Ensuite or Shared]
All rooms in the hotel are ensuite. All rooms in the main hotel (except one which has a bath) have showers, which the guest needs to step up and in to. Rooms in the Annexe have both Shower & Bath upstairs and walk in showers downstairs, with one twin room having a wet room with wheelchair access

APARTMENTS

Our ground floor apartment doesn’t have any steps up but only has a bath. Our upstairs apartment has a walk-in shower.

GROUND & GARDENS

The hotel has no garden, however there is a covered courtyard at the back of the hotel with tables & chairs.

This is situated next to the car park.
