Welcome
We aim to cater for the needs of all visitors at The Swan Hotel, Alresford. The following statement is a summary of the facilities and local amenities available. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to call us and we will endeavor to help.
Pre-Arrival
• The Swan Hotel can be contacted by phone 01962 732302, Fax 01962 735274 or email swanhotel@btinternet.com. There is also a website for the hotel www.swanhotelalresford.com.
• The hotel has a private car park. The nearest railway station is in Alton (10 miles) or Winchester (7 miles). Both stations have taxi ranks outside, with pre-bookable accessible taxis – Wintax Taxi Service – 01962 878727. A full list of local taxis companies is available at reception.
• Buses from Alton & Winchester stop outside the hotel and run two buses per hour.
• The hotel can cater for special diets – diabetic, gluten free etc. – if prebooked.
Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
• The hotel is open from 7am until 11pm daily. As there is no night porter, if arriving after 11pm, please can you notify the hotel so that a member of staff is available at check in.
• The car park is situated at the rear of the hotel. Assistance can be provided with luggage and if a ground floor room has been booked, parking is available outside the door. The hotel has 20 Car Park Spaces & 1 Disabled Space.
Main Entrance & Reception
• Reception is open from 7am until 11pm. There is no night porter so in an emergency ring extension 409. If entry is required after 11pm, then access can be gained by using the front door/side door key. Please make sure you take your key with you for late entry.
• The hotel has no lift.
• There is seating available in the reception area.
Public Areas – General (Internal)
• The Reception, Dining Room, Bar, Watercress Room and Snug are all on one level. There are 3 private function rooms – The Watercress Room, the front dining room, which seats up to 35, The Dining Room which seats up to 60 people, & The Undercroft, which seats up to 100, which is accessible only by stairs and is sited below the hotel.
Public Areas – WC
A disabled toilet is sited by reception. Baby Changing Facilities are available in the disabled toilet.
Restaurant / Dining Room, Bar & Lounges
• To access the reception, restaurants and bar there are paved ramps that lead directly to both the bar and reception area.
• The tables & seating are moveable. All tables are at the same height.
• The hotel can cater for special dietary requirements on request.
• Waitress Service is available, however at busy times we request that the customer goes to the counter. We are very happy to provide waitress service if the customer prefers.
Laundry
There is no Laundry Room, however a Laundry Service is offered on request. Please ask for a current price list.
Conference & Meeting Rooms, Banqueting, Clubs, Entertainment
• There are 2 meeting rooms available. The Front Dining Room known as The Watercress Room seats up to 15 Boardroom style, or The Undercroft, seats up to 35 Boardroom style. Access to the Undercroft is only available by stairs.
Bedrooms
• All bedrooms in the main hotel are accessed via two flights of stairs.
• However, in the annex of the hotel, there are 5 rooms that are accessed directly from the car park. Four of these rooms (twins, doubles & family) are accessed via three steps. Room 425, a twin room, is located on the ground floor and is accessed without steps. It has a wet room, grab rail, level-access shower and space suitable for wheelchair users. However, the bedroom has no handrails. Assistance dogs are welcome throughout the hotel in accordance with the Equality Act 2010. However pet dogs are only allowed to stay in our downstairs rooms. There is a dog charge of £10 per dog per day.

Bathroom, Shower-room & WC [Ensuite or Shared]
All rooms in the hotel are ensuite. All rooms in the main hotel (except one which has a bath) have showers, which the guest needs to step up and in to. Upstairs rooms in the annex have both Shower & Bath. Downstairs rooms in the annex have walk-in showers, with one twin room having a wet room, grab rail, level-access shower and space suitable for wheelchair users.
Grounds and Gardens
• The hotel has no garden. However, there is a terrace at the back of the hotel with tables & chairs. This is situated next to the car park.
